- ECOfusion Engineered bamboo planks use engineered cross-grain bamboo core, making these planks 100% quick renewable and not wood like other brands.
- They grow, harvest, and process their bamboo, and the manufacturing occurs in their ISO 9000 Certified facility to ensure proper quality control throughout the manufacturing process.

3. Accessories
To aid you in installation, ECOfusion has various moldings that include overlap stair nose, stair nose, quarter round, T-mold, threshold, overlap reducer, flush reducer, and so on.
Price/cost
ECOfusion bamboo price ranges from $6.19-$8.88 /Sq. Ft with ECOfusion Tru-Core HDF/Strandwoven Bamboo most expensive, followed by ECOfusion Engineered 9/16″ Strandwoven Bamboo. This price doesn’t include professional installation, whose national average is $2-$5 per square foot.
Compared to other brands, ECOfusion is one of the most expensive brands competing with Ambient, Cali bamboo, and Teragren.
If you are looking for affordable bamboo flooring planks, we bet Floor and Décor’s Eco Forest, LL Flooring (Lumber Liquidators), Home Decorators Collection, Home Legend, and LifeProof are cheaper.
However, price alone shouldn’t discourage you. Looking at ECOfusion plank quality, they are still worth every penny you spend on them.
Installation
How to install your ECOfusion bamboo planks, acclimation, and acceptable subfloors depends on which planks you select. Let us briefly look at each. We don’t intend to go into details but give you an overview to know if the various planks suit you.
a). Acceptable subfloors
Subfloor must be flat, dry, and remain dry throughout the year with the recommended moisture content, structurally sound, clean, and free of debris. For glue down, ensure no old adhesives, sealers, paints, wax, or grease.
Secondly, the subfloor you have should influence how you install your bamboo and which planks will suit you. Kindly don’t glue down or nail where the subfloor requires only floating.
- Panel subfloors with a thickness that meet the particular truss/joist spacing
- Concrete slab (control vapor emission) with a 6-mil poly film between concrete and ground and cured for at least 60 days.
- Well-secured existing wood floors. Unfinish the wood if you intend to glue it down
- Secure and well-bonded sheet vinyl or resilient tiles – floating only
- New tiles and vinyl without urethane-coating
- Lightweight concrete (gypcrete) with latex primer – floating only
b). Installation level, acclimation duration, and conditions
We recommend you keep the installation area at ideal conditions (temperature and humidity) for two weeks before receiving your planks, during acclimation, installation, and your floor’s lifespan. Invest in an HVAC system.
Secondly, ensure you acclimate as required and for the correct durations. During acclimation, don’t keep your planks or boxes on concrete floors or next to walls.
Finally, for water-free, low-VOC moisture, cure urethane adhesive, and follow the provided instructions.
Plank and ideal conditions | Conditions | Acclimation duration |
T&G Solid Strand woven Bamboo (Temperature 60-80°F with 30%-55% relative humidity). | Nail or glue on/above grade. If on concrete glue-down above grade ONLY. | Acclimate for at least seven days outside their boxes. |
Solid-Lock Strandwoven Bamboo (Temperature 60-80°F with Rh of 30%-55%) | Float below/on/above grade. Gluing is not recommended. | Acclimation takes 14 days or longer in extreme conditions outside their boxes. Optimum conditions |
Tru-Core HDF/Strandwoven (Temperature 60-75°F humidity 30%-60%) | Float, glue, or staple below, on, or above. Floating is for only below-grade installation. | Acclimatize for five days outside their boxes or with boxes open. |
ECOfusion Tru-Core HDF/Strandwoven (Temperature 60°-80°F and Rh 35-65%) | Float below, on, or above grade. | 24 -72 hours inside UNOPENED boxes at your installation area. |
14mm Engineered Strandwoven Bamboo (60-75°F temperature and with a relative humidity of 30%-60%) | Float, glue, or nail below on or above grade. | Acclimation with boxes completely open or removed for five days, |
c). Radiant heated subfloor
The various ECOfusion bamboo flooring is compatible with some radiant heating systems meant for hardwood flooring except ECOfusion Tru-Core HDF 5-Ply Strandwoven Bamboo. Kindly check since radiant heat may only be for floated planks or even glued ones, depending on your select planks.
Cleaning, care, and maintenance
Proper cleaning, care, and preventive maintenance may help extend the lifespan of your bamboo floors.
Cleaning
Regularly sweep or vacuum your floors to remove any grit, which will act like sandpaper and promote scratches and scuffing. Use vacuums that don’t have a beater bar or those with a soft-bristled head.
Clean floor using quality hardwood cleaners intended for urethane factory finish such as ECOfusion CLEAN Floor Cleaner or any other. If you have a stubborn spot such as grime or glue, use ECOfusion SPOTLESS Glue Remover and diminish scratch appearance using ECOfusion REFRESH.
When cleaning with water or any cleaner, thoroughly wring the mop or applicator before using it to clean the floor. You don’t want water or liquids to seep through the joints and seams.
NEVER use floor wax, petroleum-based cleaners, or oil soaps to clean the floor. Stick to products intended for hardwood flooring with a urethane finish.
Finally, don’t wet-mop or steam-mop your ECOfusion bamboo flooring. A slightly damp mop is ok so long as it doesn’t leave a small amount of moisture that will evaporate in no time.
Protective care and maintenance
To elongate the lifespan of your floor, prevent scratches, dry any spills, rearrange area rugs and furniture, and re-coat or top-coat them regularly.
Prevent scratches
There is no scratch-resistant bamboo or even hardwood floors. However, you can reduce scratches by doing the following:
- All furniture legs must have felt paddings
- Remove spike shoes
- Trim your cat’s and dog’s nails regularly
- Remove shoes or work boots as they often have pebbles embedded in their soles.
- Have rugs on all entrances to help trap moisture, sand, grit, and dirt you may be carrying from outside.
- Use area recommended rugs on places that receive a lot of traffic.
Dry floors immediately
Yes, bamboo resists water better than hardwoods. However, this doesn’t mean bamboo is waterproof. Therefore, immediately dry any spills, including pet messes (urine or slobbers), since leaving it for a prolonged time will give liquids time to seep through seams, damaging your floor.
Also, remove soiled rugs or mats as they will attract moisture and keep your bamboo floor moist or wet.
To re-coat or not?
Can you re-coat or top-coat your ECOfusion bamboo floors? Yes, you can periodically re-coat or top-coat them to help improve their appearance and prolong their lifespan.
If possible, re-coat them immediately you see wear signs as this will help restore it and improve its condition and appearance.
To re-coat or top-coat, lightly abrade or screen the top factory finish coat and apply Bona’s traffic floor finish. Bona does have a Bona Prep system that allows top-coating to these floors.
Should I rearrange my house?
Yes. Regularly rearrange your furniture to help promote even wearing. Also, it will ensure that the UV effect on planks is consistent if you don’t have blinds or curtains.
